I ferri dell'Opra. Il teatro delle marionette siciliane

The Sicilian Opera dei Pupi is a valuable testament of the intricate historical and cultural heritage of Sicily. The Unesco declaratons and the a6enton paid to the processes by means of which traditonal practces are transformed into common heritage, have fostered the development of an analysis, both diachronic and synchronic, based on an anthropological perspectve: its aim is to investgate the strategies of inventon and creaton of Traditon and of its problematzaton with partcular reference to the concept of "cultural memory". Following these premisses, the present work aims to analyze the basic structures, grammar and syntax of the Opera dei Pupi show, highlightng its evoluton in the new context of use.
