The study restricts the analysis to a district of the oldest and most popular in Palermo to describe and reflect on the interpretation provided by migrant women from Africa to gender discrimination suffered by their partner who guide their behavioral codes. An unexpected aspect that constitutes the heart of the research is in what has been indicated as the auroral phase of a regressive mestizament, and the effects of which have been characterized with different nuances precisely through the reflections of the Palermitan women who positively evaluated the behavioral patterns and the act daily of immigrant women belonging to their social circles. Having recorded, during the focuses conducted with the Palermitan women living in the Ballarò district, attitudes marked by the so-called "respect" of the segregationist practices of which African women were bearers and, again, having collected opinions and observations cloaked in nostalgia for family systems that appear to the participants in the focuses as stable and solid, both in the division of roles within the families of the newcomers, and in the moral aspects of marital fidelity, it suggests that contacts between them lead to some regression by women Palermitan women interviewed. The same seem to confuse the logics of male domination with the modernist ones of indissoluble marriage and seem to neglect how African women find themselves, in fact, within segregationist systems certainly not chosen by them. They also seem to evaluate the recent past of their mothers and grandmothers as a temporal congestion certainly more reassuring than what they are experiencing, and more similar to that of African immigrant women who meet in daily life. Some of the interviewees have in fact openly stated that if their son marries an African, he would be more likely to be sheltered from the instability that distinguishes contemporary couples.
