Abstract
After having isolated and described what he calls "epiphanies of the royal body in the image", replacing the royal body, physical, of some rulers of the Hauteville dynasties (Roger II, William I, William II) and Staufen (Henry VI, Frederick II, Manfredi), which we received through seals in lead and wax and coins, as well as in mosaics, paintings and monumental sculptures (but there is also mention of those lost), in a chronological span that goes from 1130 to 1266, the author assesses them for each visuality, reception and performance, i.e. commission, recipients, mode of use (or non-use) social, sources and models, location.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
