The paper focuses on the wrinting instruction for Chinese learners of Italian as Foreign Language (IFL). In particular, it will deal (sections 1 and 2) with the role that the rich Chinese textual tradition, together with its cultural and pragmatic aspects, could play in learning IFL textual competence. In this perspective section3 will deal with data from some texts written by undergaduate students of the degree course in Italian of the Sichuan International Studies University.
