Abstract
At the center of the scene is the daily experience of the so-called "children of the mafia", children of bosses with different life paths, children taken into care within the "Free to choose" project with troubled histories behind them. called to offer their point of view on their own existential and family life. It is an experience characterized by profound loneliness and the feeling of always finding oneself "out of place"; multiple identities that oscillate between the claim of their diversity and the firm intention of not denying their origins. In the background the reference to an original sin, a Kafkaesque condemnation from which one cannot escape, even when no crime has been committed, indeed especially when one has never been committed. Dense testimonies, which while allowing the reader to observe from the inside a daily life full of contradictions and obstacles, offer excellent material for scientific analysis in a field in which voices from within are scarce. We are moving on rough terrain to say the least, within a nuanced and elusive context, in which every form of generalization - however useful it may appear for operational purposes - must be examined by concrete experience, avoiding making it assume apodictically the as a new theory or – even worse – that it is used as a predictive model of behavior. Whatever the declinations in which it is expressed, the position of the "children of the bosses" appears uncomfortable. Caught between multiple belongings, it is difficult for them to carve out a path of "autonomy" from the expectations of their family of origin but also from the expectations coming from society. And here emerges the feeling of always being "out of place", of colliding with a rubber wall when you "simply" try to give expression to your desires and your experiences.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
