The analysis here is focused on “waiting” as the time of narration in the novel Al-kāfira by ‘Alī Badr and as a means of denouncing the misogynist mentality imposed by the mutašaddidīn musallaḥīn who control the village where Fāṭima-Sophie spent her childhood and adolescence. In this climate of political repression and social oppression, the literary representation of waiting becomes a metaphor for an existential condition and an identity that is both individual and collective.

Abstract
The analysis here is focused on “waiting” as the time of narration in the novel Al-kāfira by ‘Alī Badr and as a means of denouncing the misogynist mentality imposed by the mutašaddidīn musallaḥīn who control the village where Fāṭima-Sophie spent her childhood and adolescence. In this climate of political repression and social oppression, the literary representation of waiting becomes a metaphor for an existential condition and an identity that is both individual and collective.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
