Palermo Living Lab on the road

“Re-cycle Palermo Lab on the Road”, an experience that began in 2013 and is now in its third year, is dedicated to the critical examination of places and experiences and the exchange of reflections with scholars, who contribute to delineating the paradigms and tools of a nascent Re-cycling Urbanism. The initiative involved the students of the “Creative City” Urban Planning Laboratory of the Department of Architecture of the University of Palermo, held by Professor Maurizio Carta, who participated in the National Interest Research Project “Re-Cycle Italy. New Life Cycles for Architecture and Infrastructure of the City and Landscape”, testing various approach methods for creating new life cycles in discontinued, abandoned, and non-city places.

“Re-cycle Palermo Lab on the road”, esperienza iniziata nel 2013 e giunta alla sua terza edizione, è dedicata alla visita critica di luoghi ed esperienze e allo scambio di riflessioni con studiosi che concorrono alla declinazione dei paradigmi e degli strumenti di un nascente Re-cycling Urbanism. Il contributo racconta l’iniziativa che ha coinvolto gli studenti del Laboratorio di Urbanistica Creative City del Dipartimento di Architettura dell’Università degli Studi di Palermo, tenuto dal prof. Maurizio Carta, che hanno aderito alla Ricerca Nazionale “Re-Cycle Italy. Nuovi cicli di vita per architetture e infrastrutture della città e del paesaggio”, sperimentando diverse modalità di approccio per la creazione di nuovi cicli di vita per i luoghi della dismissione, dell’abbandono e della non-città.
