The role of technological culture in the theoretical dichotomy between technique and form/Il ruolo della cultura tecnologica nella dicotomia teorica tra tecnica e forma

The technological culture explains the relationship between form and technique on the basis of a concrete and existential dimension. «The existential dimension “truth” becomes manifest in history, but its meaning transcend the historical situation. In general the concretization of the existential dimension depends on how things are made, that is, it depends on form and technology» (Schulz, 1979). In this perspective the essay explores theories and praxis of technological culture on the relationship between form and material, and between architecture and technique starting from the concept of technology: from the historical evolution of techniques and building systems to the value of innovation, probing material social and ideological issues that alternate in modern and contemporary process.

La cultura tecnologica spiega il rapporto tra forma e tecnica basandosi su una dimensione concreta ed esistenziale. «La dimensione esistenziale “verità” si manifesta attraverso la storia, ma il suo significato trascende la situazione storica. Tale concretizzazione dipende in genere dal come siano le cose fatte, ossia dalle forme e dalla tecnologia» (Schulz, 1979). In tal ottica il saggio esplora teorie e prassi della cultura tecnologica sul rapporto tra materia e forma e tra architettura e tecnica, a partire dal concetto di tecnologia: dall’evoluzione storica delle tecniche e dei sistemi costruttivi al valore dell’innovazione, sondando nelle problematiche ideologiche, sociali e materiali che si avvicendano nel processo moderno e contemporaneo.
