Una grande "decostruzione" del grande Ranke. Nota al magnum opus di G. J. Henz

A "large "De-construction" of the great Ranke. Remarks on G. J. Henz's magnum opus. In 2014 Henz published the most relevant issue on Ranke's life, work and reception. In this note the author stresses the assets of Henz's huge feat, that turns out ot be a basic tool for research on Ranke and the entire German historical culture and scholarship. Nevertheless, the choice to treat Ranke as a historical object by means of a strict philological method does not automatically lead to a better understanding of his achivement.

Nel 2014 Henz ha pubblicato il più significativo contributo sulla vita, l'opera e la recezione di Ranke finora prodotto. In questa nota, vengone esaminate le caratteristiche del gigantesco lavoro di Henz, che si impone come uan strumento elementare e indispensabile per la ricerca su Ranke e in genere sulla cultura storica tedesca. Tuttavia, la scelta di trattare Ranke come un oggetto storiografico in modo esclusivamente filologico non pare condurre automaticamente a una migliore comprensione della sua opera.
