Il restauro scientifico per un presepe trapanese in materiali preziosi

The article deals with the restoration of an unpublished crib from Trapani of the second half of the ‘700 from a private collection. It has presented many difficulties for the different materials which characterizes it and for the consequent need to resort to different modes of intervention, all targeted to the same criteria of maintenance and conservation, and not of rebuilding or replacement. The restoration has also allowed to detect what were the ways of achieving these artifacts used by the trapanese workers.

L’articolo tratta del restauro di un inedito presepe trapanese della seconda metà del ‘700 di collezione privata. Esso ha presentato non poche difficoltà per la polimatericità che lo caratterizza e per la conseguente necessità di ricorrere a modi diversi di intervento, tutti mirati egualmente agli stessi criteri di manutenzione, conservazione e non rifacimento o sostituzione. Il restauro ha consentito inoltre di rilevare quali fossero le modalità di realizzazione di tali manufatti in uso presso le maestranze trapanesi
