Object of the essay is the radical rewriting of the tale "Artisti da strapazzo", appared in the "Fanfulla della Domenica" (11 january 1885) and then merged into the collection "Vagabondaggio" (1887). The interventions, which modify even plot details, order of some episodes, narrative structures and measures, refine technical and expressive choices, but also broaden the tematic register, are functional to a representation of reality and to inner analysis modes who aspire to a level of higher complexity.
