The Greek poet Kostìs Palamàs (Patrai, 1859- Athens, 1943) had long acquaintance with Italian literature which marked his critical thought . The results of this deep influence can be evidenced when interpreting authors and trends in modern Greek literature. In this paper, Palamàs’ comparative reading of Solomòs (Zakynthos,1978 – Kerkyra, 1857) and Leopardi is confirmed by means of a philological analysis of Solomos’ autographs, and new hints are given to a reassessment of Solomos’ role in the broader context of European Romanticisms.

Abstract
The Greek poet Kostìs Palamàs (Patrai, 1859- Athens, 1943) had long acquaintance with Italian literature which marked his critical thought . The results of this deep influence can be evidenced when interpreting authors and trends in modern Greek literature. In this paper, Palamàs’ comparative reading of Solomòs (Zakynthos,1978 – Kerkyra, 1857) and Leopardi is confirmed by means of a philological analysis of Solomos’ autographs, and new hints are given to a reassessment of Solomos’ role in the broader context of European Romanticisms.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
