Second harmonic out-of-phase (SH-90) signal, together with first harmonic in phase (FH-0) component can give precious information about the relaxation times, in particular the transverse relaxation time T2. In this work we took advantage of the numerical solution of the modified Bloch equations in which the modulation field was included. In details, we investigated the dependence of this EPR signal component on microwave power and modulation amplitude for various values of the relaxation times T1 and T2. These trends have been compared with the corresponding trends of the first harmonic in phase (FH-0) component.

Abstract

Second harmonic out-of-phase (SH-90) signal, together with first harmonic in phase (FH-0) component can give precious information about the relaxation times, in particular the transverse relaxation time T2. In this work we took advantage of the numerical solution of the modified Bloch equations in which the modulation field was included. In details, we investigated the dependence of this EPR signal component on microwave power and modulation amplitude for various values of the relaxation times T1 and T2. These trends have been compared with the corresponding trends of the first harmonic in phase (FH-0) component.
