The first part examines the history of queens and noblewomen who fought to defend their own rights and those of their children; the second part examines dissent within female spirituality; the third examines the transgressions between reality and literary fiction.
Il volume descrive le battaglie combattute dalle donne in Europa tra il IX e il XV secolo, da tre diverse angolazioni. Nella prima parte si esamina la storia di regine e nobildonne che lottarono per difendere i diritti propri e dei figli; nella seconda il dissenso nell'ambito della spiritualità femminile; nella terza le trasgressioni tra realtà e finzione letteraria.
