Design&Territori – Agrigento 2025

The catalogue Design&Territori. Agrigento Italian Capital of Culture 2025 documents and interprets the 2025 edition of the project promoted by the University of Palermo, conceived to enhance design as a device for dialogue between universities, enterprises, and local territories. Structured into five thematic sections inspired by Empedocles’ philosophy—Roots, Care, Experience, Exploration, Identity—the exhibition proposes a symbolic and project-based journey connecting memory and innovation, heritage and transformation, local contexts and systemic vision. The volume presents design as a situated, relational, and transformative cultural practice capable of activating processes of social, economic, and environmental regeneration, while reinforcing the role of the public university in third mission activities and in fostering collaborative networks among communities and territories.
