IL RUOLO DEL MAPPING NELLE POLITICHE DI GENERE TERRITORIALI

The thesis examines the role of contemporary participatory mapping practices in fostering forms of territorial governance that are attentive to gender issues and oriented toward environmental and social justice. The analysis draws on ecofeminist perspectives, the capability approach, and climate justice, applied to four case studies located in Morocco. Furthermore, the study engages with ongoing debates on geodata — questioning who controls it, who can access it, and under what conditions — and critically reflects on the implications of digital methods and their outcomes within the discipline of geography.

La tesi esamina il ruolo delle pratiche contemporanee di mappatura partecipativa nel promuovere forme di governance territoriale attente alle questioni di genere e orientate alla giustizia ambientale e sociale. L’analisi si fonda su prospettive ecofemministe, sull’approccio delle capability e sulla giustizia climatica, applicate a quattro casi studio localizzati in Marocco. Inoltre, il lavoro si inserisce nel dibattito attuale sui geodati — interrogandosi su chi ne detenga il controllo, chi vi possa accedere e a quali condizioni — e riflette criticamente sull’impatto dei metodi digitali e dei loro esiti all’interno della disciplina geografica.
