There is always a margin within the margin. Intra-categorical discrimination presupposes that, within an already marginalized group, there exists a subset of individuals whose marginalization is intensified by one or more discriminatory factors operating simultaneously with others. This characteristic implies that their recognition within the more commonly known social category is not sufficient to define the experience of discrimination they live through. In celebrating the history of anti-racist movements and the achievements of the Black community, it is necessary to keep in mind that internal group within the category which, for years, has been forgotten, rendered invisible, and ignored: Black women.

Abstract
There is always a margin within the margin. Intra-categorical discrimination presupposes that, within an already marginalized group, there exists a subset of individuals whose marginalization is intensified by one or more discriminatory factors operating simultaneously with others. This characteristic implies that their recognition within the more commonly known social category is not sufficient to define the experience of discrimination they live through. In celebrating the history of anti-racist movements and the achievements of the Black community, it is necessary to keep in mind that internal group within the category which, for years, has been forgotten, rendered invisible, and ignored: Black women.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
