Architectural Structures for Music, Sonic Events, and Dance in the Ancient World

This volume investigates the profound and bidirectional interaction between performative activities—music, sound, and dance—and the architectural structures of the ancient world. Moving beyond the traditional view of architecture as a passive container, the research establishes built space as an active agent that shaped acoustics, visibility, and sensory perception.
