The volume is about the poems carved on the wood of their lodging by the Chinese immigrants to the USA at the beginning of the last century when they were kept in barracks while waiting to be authorized to enter the country or to be sent back to China.

Il volume tratta delle poesie incise sul legno dei loro alloggi dagli immigrati cinesi negli Stati Uniti all'inizio del secolo scorso, quando venivano tenuti in baracche in attesa di essere autorizzati a entrare nel Paese o di essere rimpatriati in Cina.
