L'acqua a Solunto: il caso della palestra/ginnasio

The study of the building complex at Solunto, identified as the palaestra/gymnasium, has made it possible to recognize several hydraulic features that represent a key aspect in understanding the interventions carried out in the area where the building is located. The latter, which can be dated to a period following the construction of the theatre (2nd century BC), stands in a strategic area of the settlement where several structures belonging to a "Punic" phase of the site have been identified.

Lo studio del complesso edilizio soluntino identificato con la palestra/ginnasio ha permesso di riconoscere diverse evidenze idrauliche che costituiscono un aspetto chiave per la conoscenza degli interventi che hanno interessato l’area in cui ricade l’edificio. Quest’ultimo, databile a un periodo successivo alla costruzione del teatro (II sec. a.C.), sorge in un’area nevralgica dell’abitato in cui sono state riconosciute diverse strutture pertinenti a una fase «punica» dell’insediamento.
