In the context of modern digital citizenship, digital media present opportunities for even preschool children. However, while children grow up surrounded by media, this doesn't ensure a critical or conscious use enhancing civic engagement. To address this need, since 2020, Civic Education has been a curricular subject in Italy with three main thematic areas (Constitution, Sustainable Development, and Digital Citizenship). The Educ@re project aims to integrate Civic Education with Media Education to support teachers’ professional development and promote students’ citizenship competencies.
