The volume collects the proceedings of the Conference held in 2023, at the University of Palermo, to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the foundation of the Scientific Police. The papers are divided into two groups, corresponding to the sessions of the Conference. The first one was dedicated to the "DNA Evidence in the Criminal Trial". The second one was entitled "From Fingerprints to Facial Recognition". The Authors - who participated in the Conference as speakers - are experts from the Scientific Police, judges, prosecutors, lawyers and university professors.
