The accumulation of petrol-plastic waste in the environment has attracted worldwide attention due to the environmental impact caused by improper disposal and the non-biodegradable nature of plastic products. Traditional plastic disposal methods have significant drawbacks and limitations. Therefore, biodegradation methods have been long considered for breaking down petroleum-based plastics such as polyolefins. In this study, PS and LDPE were subjected to biodegradation tests using Tenebrio Molitor and Zophobas Morio larvae, and different experimental diets were compared. Plastic biodegradation was characterized by measuring the mass change of the larvae and the survival rate, spectroscopy, spectrometry, microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis.

Abstract
The accumulation of petrol-plastic waste in the environment has attracted worldwide attention due to the environmental impact caused by improper disposal and the non-biodegradable nature of plastic products.
