The discipline of urban planning, thanks also to the renewed reflections of the bioregionalist vision, increasingly manifests the need to redesign the project as the outcome of a path rooted in the knowledge of the territory in all its forms and in the relationship of all its components. This book, thanks to contributions by scholars from different scientific-disciplinary areas, aims to offer insights that through the territorialist approach look at the territory with new points of view, in order to reach a project free of preconceptions and profoundly linked to the specificities of the territorial context of reference. It is aimed at achieving this goal by restoring the interdisciplinary nature of theoretical-practical research on land-use and urban planning issues, looking at the territory as a place where people live, work, where elements and actions are combined, where morphology, spaces and inhabitants are integrated. Even so, according to the territorialist approach, the aim is to bring attention back to the relationship between city and countryside, to their organic link deformed by economic-financial logics that reduce land and physical components to normalized supports of market mechanisms. While having a well-defined internal coherence, the book is intended to be an opportunity to research and weave relationships between different urban themes that are apparently distant, but deeply connected by places of action, goals and methods. As a consequence of this effort, one of the common threads of the volume is the desire to outline a method for writing biographies of territories that highlight the mechanisms that govern a territory and become a starting point for future projects.

Abstract
As a consequence of this effort, one of the common threads of the volume is the desire to outline a method for writing biographies of territories that highlight the mechanisms that govern a territory and become a starting point for future projects.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
