The scope of the EARS project is to advance the technological maturation of the key subsystems of a reusable satellite. While reusability is a trending topic for launchers, it is still a concept way too far to the satellite industry, above all in the small satellites segment. However, due to the drastic reduction of costs for launching and producing the platforms, we have entered a vicious circle where it is common to launch hundreds, if not thousands, of small platforms with the excuse that they will naturally fall within 25 years and burn in the atmosphere, but in the meantime, they will have polluted the orbits and created a real and severe space problem of debris. To this end, EARS aims to be a breakthrough innovation, challenging the disposable mindset typical of the New Space economy. In the whole, Deliverable 1.1 - Business Case Report provides a holistic approach to assessing the EARS project’s market feasibility.
