This publication, belonging to the University of Palermo CSX - EUROSTART research project, transfer a transformative vision for rural territories through the lens of citizens' experiences. It underscores the evolution from individual-centric User Experience (UX) to a broader Community Experience (CX), emphasizing a holistic, ethical approach to urban/rural development. The volume presents the main outcomes of the "Communities’ Sustainable eXperiences" (CSX) research and Urban Thinkers Campus held in the Madonie Region, Sicily, which convened over 400 participants including activists, researchers, and policymakers. Anchored by principles of the New European Bauhaus initiative and the New Urban Campaign framework, the research addressed multifaceted challenges such as sustainable communities, green energy solutions, and planning policies through a blend of bottom-up and top-down approaches. Additionally, this volume brings together 22 scientific papers developed post-symposium, each undergoing a rigorous double-blind review process. These papers reflect rich interdisciplinary discourse, offering actionable insights and strategies for sustainable, inclusive urban transformation.
