Second volume of a research on medieval Greek documentation in southern Italy, the book is the diplomatic, historical and linguistic study of an archive collection from the Greek monastery of San Salvatore in Messina and now preserved in the archives of the Duke of Medinaceli in Toledo. The introduction deals with the economic, social and linguistic history of post-Byzantine Calabria, from the Norman kingdom to the first Aragonese period. This is followed by the diplomatic edition, analysis and commentary of 53 private deeds, an index of names and places, in Greek and French, an index of the remarkable words, in some cases unknown to medieval and modern lexicons. A cd-rom with the reproduction of the original parchments allows the verification of the transcription and paleographic analysis of the text of the documents.

Secondo volume di una ricerca sulla documentazione greca medievale in Italia meridionale, il libro è lo studio diplomatico, storico e linguistico di un fondo d'archivio proveniente dal monastero greco del San Salvatore di Messina e ora conservato negli archivi del duca di Medinaceli a Toledo. Nell'introduzione si tratta della storia economica sociale e linguistica della Calabria post bizantina, dal regno Normanno fino al primo periodo Aragonese. Seguono l'edizione diplomatica analisi e commento di 53 atti privati, un indice dei nomi e dei luoghi, in greco e in francese, un indice delle parole notevoli in alcuni casi sconosciute ai lessici medievali e moderni. Un cd-rom con la riproduzione delle pergamene originali consente la verifica della trascrizione e dell'analisi paleografica del testo dei documenti.
