The volume investigates the intersection and mix of codes between humanistic culture and medical-scientific, demonstrating how the general picture of the relationship between 'science' literary and medical and natural ones (physics, chemistry, biology) are rich, complex, historically sedimented, in a diachronic path from antiquity to the 21st century. By placing the center of reflection is the literary text, the pages of this book observe the contaminations linguistic, structural and thematic between the two cultures. The sciences are analyzed according to three perspectives: as a tool, reflecting on the ways in which medical, scientific and technological revolutions have influenced rhetorical construction and linguistics of texts; as an object of discourse, to question the combinations between the rhetorical and story-telling tools of storytelling techniques and the (apparent) asepticity of scientific discourse; and, finally, as a hermeneutic practice, investigating the use of sciences as a tool for literary analysis and criticism.

Abstract
The volume investigates the intersection and mix of codes between humanistic culture and medical-scientific, demonstrating how the general picture of the relationship between 'science' literary and medical and natural ones (physics, chemistry, biology) are rich, complex, historically sedimented, in a diachronic path from antiquity to the 21st century. By placing the center of reflection is the literary text, the pages of this book observe the contaminations linguistic, structural and thematic between the two cultures. The sciences are analyzed according to three perspectives: as a tool, reflecting on the ways in which medical, scientific and technological revolutions have influenced rhetorical construction and linguistics of texts; as an object of discourse, to question the combinations between the rhetorical and story-telling tools of storytelling techniques and the (apparent) asepticity of scientific discourse; and, finally, as a hermeneutic practice, investigating the use of sciences as a tool for literary analysis and criticism.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
