Writer and essayist, Philippe Vilain occupies a unique place in the contemporary literary field pursuing, since over twenty years, a permanent dialogue between fiction and theory, defining the demanding principles of a political and aesthetic ideal that his texts work to embody, modernizing the traditional analytic novel to rethink the theme of love through new critical discourses – the "fictions pensives" - but also theorising recent literary movements (L’autofiction en théorie, La littérature sans idéal, La passion d’Orphée). An object of genuine academic interest since the publication of Pas son genre - his great novel adapted for cinema by the director Lucas Belvaux -, this work, bears a strong critical thought, imposes, in the polyphony of conformist speeches, a political resistance of literature to the ultraliberal market for books.

Abstract
Writer and essayist, Philippe Vilain occupies a unique place in the contemporary literary field pursuing, since over twenty years, a permanent dialogue between fiction and theory, defining the demanding principles of a political and aesthetic ideal that his texts work to embody, modernizing the traditional analytic novel to rethink the theme of love through new critical discourses – the "fictions pensives" - but also theorising recent literary movements (L’autofiction en théorie, La littérature sans idéal, La passion d’Orphée). An object of genuine academic interest since the publication of Pas son genre - his great novel adapted for cinema by the director Lucas Belvaux -, this work, bears a strong critical thought, imposes, in the polyphony of conformist speeches, a political resistance of literature to the ultraliberal market for books.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
