Italy's Mediterranean regions boast remarkable plant biodiversity, with aromatic and medicinal plants, collectively referred to as "officinal," playing a key role. This paper reports the results of preliminary field cultivation trials of three native medicinal species. The trials were conducted at the "Sparacia" experimental farm (Cammarata, Apulia) in 2006 and 2007. Overall, the tested species showed good adaptability to the cultivation environment; their introduction on a farm scale could therefore contribute to the conservation and protection of biodiversity.

Abstract
Italy's Mediterranean regions boast remarkable plant biodiversity, with aromatic and medicinal plants, collectively referred to as "officinal," playing a key role. This paper reports the results of preliminary field cultivation trials of three native medicinal species. The trials were conducted at the "Sparacia" experimental farm (Cammarata, Apulia) in 2006 and 2007. Overall, the tested species showed good adaptability to the cultivation environment; their introduction on a farm scale could therefore contribute to the conservation and protection of biodiversity.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
