This volume is the second in the series of books dedicated to Virtual Restoration and represents the natural continuation of the previous volume published in 2017: Virtual restoration 1. Paintings and Mosaics. The first volume presented the general topic of virtual restoration as applied to pictorial surfaces and mosaics via 38 case studies that illustrated specific issues: from the survey to the representation of the surfaces, from the mapping of decay to the analysis of colour, from the treatment of the gaps to the virtual reconstruction, as well as the diagnostic analyses of the surfaces. This second volume illustrates all the applications that can be used for virtual pictorial restoration in a single context of study, the rock-cut rock church of Lama d’Antico near Fasano, the results of which have made it possible to perform a new and complete iconographic reading of all the frescoes still conserved, thanks precisely to virtual restoration.

Abstract
This volume is the second in the series of books dedicated to Virtual Restoration and represents the natural continuation of the previous volume published in 2017: Virtual restoration 1. Paintings and Mosaics. The first volume presented the general topic of virtual restoration as applied to pictorial surfaces and mosaics via 38 case studies that illustrated specific issues: from the survey to the representation of the surfaces, from the mapping of decay to the analysis of colour, from the treatment of the gaps to the virtual reconstruction, as well as the diagnostic analyses of the surfaces. This second volume illustrates all the applications that can be used for virtual pictorial restoration in a single context of study, the rock-cut rock church of Lama d’Antico near Fasano, the results of which have made it possible to perform a new and complete iconographic reading of all the frescoes still conserved, thanks precisely to virtual restoration.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
