The aim of this book is to report about the main results achieved by Family Protocols. After a short literary review about Strategic Planning tools in the context of family businesses and the evolution of the idea of family protocol, it presents the results of a survey run in Spain on a sample of fifty family businesses that wrote a family protocol with professional help from people directly involved in the IESE Family Business Chair, there have been over the years 90. It aims to identify the results -either positive or negative, lasting or passengers - directly attributable to the existence of the Family Protocol, or which achievement has been influenced by the existence of a Family Protocol. The survey also sought to know to what extent the causes of these results can be attributed to the process of formulating the Family Protocol, or to its implementation, or its continuous supervision. The key points highlighted in the process of formulating the Family Protocol, the main reasons and circumstances that led to the formulation of the Protocol, the points at which there was an intense discussion during its formulation, and those that contributed most significantly to the unity and commitment of the family.
L'obiettivo di questo libro è di riferire circa i principali risultati conseguiti da "protocolli familiari". Dopo una breve rassegna della letteratura sugli strumenti di pianificazione strategica nel contesto delle aziende familiari e sull'evoluzione del concetto di protocollo familiare, vengono presentati i risultati di una ricerca condotta in Spagna su un campione di cinquanta imprese familiari estratte fra le circa novanta che hanno redatto un protocollo familiare avvalendosi dell'assistenza professionale di persone direttamente coinvolte nella Cattedra di Family Business dello IESE. Obiettivo della ricerca è di identificare i risultati - positivi o negativi, duraturi o passeggeri - direttamente imputabili all'esistenza del protocollo familiare, o comunque influenzati dalla presenza di un protocollo familiare. L'indagine ha anche cercato di comprendere fino a che punto le cause di questi risultati possano essere attribuite al processo di formulazione del protocollo familiare, o alla sua implementazione, o alla sua supervisione continua; quali siano punti chiave evidenziati nel processo di formulazione del protocollo familiare, le principali ragioni e le circostanze che hanno portato alla formulazione del protocollo, i punti in cui c'è stato un dibattito intenso durante la sua formulazione, e di quelli che hanno contribuito in modo significativo alla unità e dedizione della famiglia.
