In the work a macroscopic model of inhomogeneous superfluid turbulence previously formulated is further developed to investigate the flow of superfluid helium inside a very thin capillary or a porous medium. A boundary condition is formulated, which is able to explain the reversible flow of helium inside the capillary. Using this condition the propagation of harmonic waves inside a porous medium is studied. It is shown that the model allows the propagation of a wave in which in addition to the hydrodynamical fields (density and velocity) also the temperature, the heat flux and the vortex line density vibrate.

Abstract

In the work a macroscopic model of inhomogeneous superfluid turbulence previously formulated is further developed to investigate the flow of superfluid helium inside a very thin capillary or a porous medium. A boundary condition is formulated, which is able to explain the reversible flow of helium inside the capillary. Using this condition the propagation of harmonic waves inside a porous medium is studied. It is shown that the model allows the propagation of a wave in which in addition to the hydrodynamical fields (density and velocity) also the temperature, the heat flux and the vortex line density vibrate.
