Il tema del colore bianco nel progetto dei pueblos de nueva fundación

The use of white in architecture is linked to the symbolic values of purity and to the neoclassical ideals of beauty; it is a character of the Mediterranean identity, but also the background on which the modern avant-garde is built. Furthermore, during the 20th century, white colour was present in some experiences related to the recovery of the vernacular. Among these, the experimentation of new cities founded in Spain for the agricultural exploitation of the territory is relevant: pioneering architectures that fix fundamental characters on which contemporary architectural culture is based.

L’uso del bianco in architettura è legato ai valori simbolici della purezza e agli ideali neoclassici di bellezza, all’identità mediterranea, ma anche all’avanguardia moderna. Nel corso del XX secolo, il bianco è presente anche in alcune esperienze legate al recupero del vernacolare. Tra queste, le sperimentazioni di nuove città fondate in Spagna rappresentano esperienze pionieristiche che fissano caratteri fondamentali su cui si basa la cultura architettonica contemporanea.
