The text briefly presents the events relating to the establishment and, at the same time, the peculiarities of the Diocesan Historical Archive of Palermo (ASDPa), with its membranous and paper fonds in Latin, Greek, Arabic and Syriac languages, seals, illuminated manuscripts dated from the 11th to the 17th centuries and related to the Metropolitan Chapter; with the conspicuous modern documentation (15th-20th centuries) very useful as a source for scholars of history, art history, demography, genealogy, and whatnot; with its specialized ancient and modern printed book collection.
Il testo presenta in breve le vicende relative alla costituzione e, al contempo, le peculiarità dell'Archivio Storico Diocesano di Palermo (ASDPa), coi suoi fondi membranacei e cartacei in lingua latina, greca, araba e siriaca, i sigilli, i manoscritti miniati datati dall'XI al XVII secolo e legati al Capitolo Metropolitano; con la cospicua documentazione moderna (XV-XX secolo) utilissima come fonte per gli studiosi di storia, storia dell'arte, demografia, genealogia e quant'altro; con il suo fondo librario specialistico a stampa antico e moderno.
