Car, speed and architecture as a cloak The Jumpcut Urbanism by R. Ingersoll establishes an analogy between the movie composition, made of cuts and jumps, and the perception of the city caught from within a car running through the city spaces. In the article the Author, referring to the short film Randevouz by C. Lelouch and to the movie Collateral by M. Mann, gradually introduces a reasoning going from the transformation of the urban networks between the late XIX and the early XX century, to the wide architectural experience extending from the Majolikahaus by O. Wagner to the recent project of P. Eisenman in Santiago de Compostela.

Ingersoll denominata Jumpcut Urbanism, costruisce un’analogia fra la composizione cinematografica fatta per tagli e salti e la percezione della città che si registra dall’abitacolo della automobile nel suo scorrere fra gli spazi della città. All’interno dell’articolo l’Autore, utilizzando il cortometraggio Randevouz di C. Lelouch, e il film Collateral, di M. Mann, introduce, progressivamente, un ragionamento che dalla trasformazione delle trame urbane tra la fine del XIX e l’inizio del XX secolo, porta a riconsiderare un ampio percorso dell’architettura che si distende dalla Majolikahaus di O. Wagner, al recente intervento di P. Eisenman a Santiago di Compostela.
